Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 7-01-2026  Last Updated: 7-12-2026

stitchBurn ("stitchBurn," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the stitchBurn platform ("Platform"), you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

  • Name, email address, and phone number (phone number verification is required to activate your account)
  • Business information, if you create a vendor listing (business name, address, services, hours, pricing, images)
  • Profile information, such as a bio, interests, photo, and social media links
  • Content you upload, including "My Work" images, product listings, reviews, and private notes
  • Payment and billing information, processed through our third-party payment processor (we do not store full payment card numbers ourselves)
  • Communications you send us, such as support requests

Information collected automatically:

  • Device and browser information
  • Log data, such as pages visited and actions taken on the Platform
  • Approximate location, where relevant to service area or delivery features

Information from your use of specific features:

  • Booking and appointment details
  • Escrow transaction records
  • stylistBid engagement and bid history
  • SMS/email marketing opt-in status and message history
  • Supply order history and custom product catalog data

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and maintain your account, including phone verification to prevent spam and fraudulent accounts
  • Operate core Platform features: the business directory, bookings, escrow payments, stylistBid, marketing tools, and supply ordering
  • Send you service-related communications, such as booking confirmations, appointment reminders, and account notices
  • Send marketing communications (SMS and/or email) where you have opted in, such as notifying vendors about new engagements matching their services
  • Match community partners with relevant businesses and categories
  • Detect and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse
  • Improve and develop new Platform features
  • Comply with legal obligations

3. SMS & Email Communications

If you provide a phone number or email address and opt in to marketing communications, we and/or vendors using our tools may send you messages related to bookings, promotions, or new engagements.

  • SMS: Reply STOP at any time to opt out of text messages. Message and data rates may apply.
  • Email: Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.
  • Phone numbers used solely for account verification are not automatically added to any marketing list.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

  • Other members, where necessary for the Platform to function — for example, a business you book with can see the contact details relevant to that booking, and a customer's public review or profile information may be visible to businesses.
  • Service providers, including our payment processor, SMS provider, and hosting infrastructure, solely to operate the Platform on our behalf.
  • Legal and safety purposes, where required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our members, or to investigate fraud or abuse.
  • In connection with a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections.

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Platform's services. We may retain certain records longer where required for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes — for example, transaction and escrow records.

6. Your Choices & Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data, subject to records we're legally required to retain
  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time
  • Object to certain uses of your information

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information below.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

stitchBurn is intended for business use by adults and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

9. Cookies & Tracking

We may use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and understand how the Platform is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect Platform functionality.

10. Third-Party Links & Services

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services (such as payment processors or video call providers). This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we encourage you to review their own privacy practices.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy with a new "Last Updated" date, and material changes will be communicated where required by law.
